Being Faithful, Staying Safe

Some churches in our area haven't reopened since March, but First Presbyterian New Orleans has been open for worship since May 17, and we've resumed communion services for the last two months. Some folks are still hesitant to return to church. We've made a video explaining what we're doing to keep people safe. It includes a behind-the-scenes look at May and Larry Ball preparing the communion elements. The hope is that this video will assuage some fears about what we're doing right now.

We are registered with the Governor's Office for reopening as a church and are complying with State and City of New Orleans guidelines for houses of worship. We are currently in Phase 2 of reopening. Worship services are limited to 50 percent of capacity. Our seating capacity is 350 and our attendance last Sunday was 36. We're good!

Under the City's rules, which are more stringent than the State's, weddings and funerals are limited to 25 in attendance.
If anyone viewing this video has questions, please contact Rev. Kathleen Crighton or Ken Allen, Clerk of Session.

Blessings! Stay safe!
