Buy a Pumpkin, Make a Difference!

Our motto is, "Buy a Pumpkin, Make a Difference!" Here's why:

Our pumpkins come all the way from the Navajo Reservation in Farmington, New Mexico. Our pumpkin supplier leases the land and grows over 28 varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and decorative corn on over 2000 acres, in cooperation with the Navajo Cultural Products Industry (NAPI). The pumpkin patch employs over 1000 Native Americans during the peak harvest months of September and October. Once the pumpkins arrive in New Orleans they are unloaded by hand, by volunteers and part of the proceeds from the patch support the Program of Hope Homeless Outreach program that operates in the Firs Pres sanctuary every Wednesday morning.

Pumpkins are priced by size. No extra charge for color variations- white ones, red ones, or the bumpy textured ones! We also have mini pumpkins and ornamental gourds.

You can also drop off donations for the homeless at the patch! Clothing, shoes, toiletries, and bus tokens are all needed.

The patch is open Monday- Friday 3pm til dusk, Saturday 10am to dusk, and Sunday 1pm to dusk. Volunteers are always welcome and very much needed! Students of any age, or anyone needing service hours or anyone just interested in paying forward a good deed can contact us at pumpkinpatch@fpcno.org to get more information on volunteering.
